Welcome to the Janmashtami edition of our e-magazine. On this auspicious day, Lord Krishna took birth to impart the knowledge about the universal truth to us, in a manner that could be easily understood by the people of that age. Similarly, our Master, Sri Sri Babathakur has imparted the Knowledge of Oneness to us in his unique way, so that it can be followed by us in everyday life.
In one of His lectures delivered at New Delhi in 1988, the Master recounted the Bhagavata story of ‘Nouka Bilash’, wherein the Gopis wished to cross the river Yamuna – and approached Lord Krishna (in the form of the boatman) about the price to be charged. There is constant bargaining (as appears to the common man) that takes place between Lord Krishna and the Gopis – and He does not agree to take them aboard till the Gopis have agreed to pay the full 16-anna (100%) fare. Sri Sri Babathakur points out that the Lord has brought us to this world and empowered us with 100% power (referring to the “I” inside, and “powered by “I” which I had mentioned in the Saraswati Puja 2022 edition of this magazine). Sri Sri Babathakur further points out that for us to return to the Universal mind and obtain lasting peace, we have to surrender ourselves 100% to the Lord – nothing less! Only when we are able to give cent percent of our mind to the Lord, do we reach the stage of Radha – i.e. get united with the Lord and obtain lasting peace.
